Marxism:
Marxism is a system based upon the theories of Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.
Marxism is a social system; the main feature is public ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange. Marxism is also defined as: “A theory in which class struggle is a central element in the analysis of social change in Western societies.” This tells us that the main factor in the social change in the Western Societies is the class struggle, so people are having issues with each other due to their different classes. (Upper class, middle class, working class)
From what I can see, Marx and Engels could see the problem in Western societies, the social change, and they made a theory that this is because of the issues between different classes. So they made a social system according to their political and economical theories. It is the ‘antithesis’ (meaning the direct contrast) to capitalism which is an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated for profit. Therefore the ideals of Marxism are for the public ownership of production, distribution, and exchange so that is it fair for everyone.
