It's me, Mr_Marmite; you love me or hate me. I am an A*-grade student who has nothing better to do than play laggy internet video games. While I do not approve of some of the things within Arcanum, I do have friends here and enjoy playing with/tutoring members, particularly in Dojo. Talking of Dojo, this is where I can more or less all the time, so sorry if I don't respond to any messages you send me immediately.
I am a gamer but I am very particular about the games I play. I have a Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Wii, XBox 360 and this lovely laptop. However I play a very limited selection of games: GA2 (obviously), Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (+3DS version), Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. (N64, Virtual Console for Wii) and internet flash games if I get bored. Note the complete lack of XBox or Wii games in this list; I'm a retro guy (however I do play PS3 games over a friend's house).
I go by the motto "If you're going to do something, do it properly". Now, when this is applied to the games I play, it turns me into an extremely sad person. Any game I play, I will obsessively try and unlock every item, area and move possible, even if it increases the gameplay time by 100 hours; God how I both loved and hated 100%ing FFVII. I have completed Ocarina of Time probably over 100 times and can speedrun the game in under 1 hour 30 minutes. How the hell can you complete the game even CLOSE to this time, you may be asking. Well, through my philosophy, I have researched a multitude of glitches and practiced them hundreds of time for consistency; in my 1:30 run I use the standard any% route, if you can be asked to research. You're probably getting bored of this paragraph so it's time to move on.
Multiplayer games. While I do enjoy Zelda, nothing beats playing multiplayer games online/with friends. And when it comes to multiplayer games, nothing beats fighters. And when it comes to fighters, nothing beats Super Smash Bros. Melee. Shame the 1000 hours plus I've put into the game makes it extremely unappealing to play with friends. I WOULD go to Smash tournaments if there were any in my region of the UK... obviously there aren't. So I use Training Mode as much as GA2's Dojo. SADDDDD.
I am extremely picky about competitive multiplayer games. The game must be made fair for all players, which for me means making the impact of random elements as little as possible towards the result of the game. For SSB, this means items OFF and tournament-legal stages (or other stages I consider fair, such as Mute City) ONLY. For GA2, this means weapon-restrictions (I've got a link I'm not allowed to post to see the best legal set of weapons) and map-restrictions. I am often FORCED to play in the unfair, boring stages because nobody plays the good maps. Onto the topic of boredom. When people use gay weapons, while playing on gay stages, while playing on Channel 1ag (you like?)... I get extremely bored. I start playing much worse than I am capable of doing. But I stay to please friends. I guarantee all of you have seen me in my bored-mode once, at least. It's not cool, but I do it anyway. Play fun and we can have some decent fights though
.
I consider myself a competent GA2 player when I am playing at the peak of my ability. It's just a shame I don't get to exhibit this ability very often due to boredom/having to play at 4AM to play with friends. Step it up people D:
I will be going to University VERY soon, so I might not be able to play with you guys as often due to timezone issues. But that doesn't matter too much as I hardly get to play with friends anyway
. I could keep on talking but this is getting wearsome on my fingers and brain; gonna finish up now. I will write more if you guys want.
Mr_Hero.
EDIT: Protege, bros before hoes, bro.
EDIT 2: Damn forgot my wall about Autos.
EDIT 3: Removed pointless stage list.
